"When they scored, it was 50/50 game. Of course, it's sad to lose when you're so close to the final game. Still we have a great foundation now for future wins.

"It is a great experience for us, and we got to learn from it. We want to win the last game on Saturday for our fans."

England will now face Belgium in the third place play-off in St. Petersburg on Sunday (AEST).
